a peek behind the scenes :: a few invites in the making

i don’t know why but one of my favorite things to do while i am assembling a big order of invites is to snap a couple of pictures of the progress and of course the big ol’ stack of them when they are done…{ and they are usually taken with my iphone, so you’ll have to excuse any quality issues! :) } here are some recent behind the scenes shots and a warning that you may see a little messiness, but its all a part of the creative process :)
fall leaves boxed invitations i just LOVED how detailed these were….let me tell you those details made for quite the assembly line! the design included a three layer metallic invitation panel in copper, red and gold printed with full color leaves and brown thermography which was set on a bed of real fall leaves! the two layer rsvp card was also done in brown thermography and included a red return envelope with the address printed in flat gold metallic ink. there was also a folded reception card with illustrated maps to the reception and ceremony hidden inside. these were all wrapped with moss green ribbon and attached to the lid of the boxes, which were then secured with a copper band and coordinating address label.
next up…
tying the knot invitation this is a new version of an old favorite (and there are more of these to come too!)… this one incorporates the same navy blue gatefold with grommets and rope accent, but brightened up the inside with crisp white and a gold accent layer as well as two layered inserts and a super fun navy and white striped envelope liner.
another new design, which i can’t WAIT to post more on { not too much here, but just a little taste } are these new nautical inspired designs for a northern michigan lakeside wedding. i LOVE the navy blue / kelly green mix and the use of bakers twine for a touch of whimsy which is carried throughout the design with the use of diagonal stripes in the custom envelope liners and wrap labels. and to accent the typographical design, i used fun nautical graphics throughout the invite and insert cards. so fun! stay tuned for more on these!
stay tuned…lots, lots more coming soon!!!
