since the fan programs use a fun die-cut shape and flowy ribbon, these guys were perfect candidates for my love of in-progress snap shots…

sun, surf and sand passport invites!

Posted in wedding invites tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 11:25 pm by meant to be sent

i have been so excited to finish and post these invites since i met with the couple back in may! they are such fun people and it definitely shows in their super fun boarding pass save the dates that i posted earlier and in these passport invitations.

they got engaged in the bahamas (which is also where their wedding will be) so we were able to use the actual passport stamp from their trip when he popped the question! how cute is that!? i love when you can incorporate little details like that!

fun, beachy colors of sun, surf and sand make for the perfect palette and ties in with the vintage-y photo of themselves relaxing on the beach in a hammock…this is sure to let guests know they are in for a fun and relaxing time at their seaside wedding. and a tear-off back cover makes for a super easy, built-in rsvp card! the passport was finished with a matching blue satin ribbon, and metallic blue envelope lined with the sunny yellow metallic paper and a coordinating wrap label. cool, easy breezy beach style.

i can’t wait to do their custom accessories for the big day!

a new year…new stuff

whew. it has been quite a year and it is definitely ending on a busy note! as this one comes to a close, i am super excited for the new year to begin….i have some exciting plans for the blog and main site! so stay tuned for new developments…

a sneak peek: i am planning on incorporating idea and inspiration boards into my blog and site. i just love them! and they are a great way to both inspire and capture ideas.

i sometimes do an idea board for my clients to illustrate a general design direction… here is an example of a very simple one i put together to give an overall feel for an invitation and show the materials to be used…some will be like this, while others will be more a collage of images gathered to capture ideas for a “look” or color scheme to inspire your invitation design…

{ TIP } if you are so inclined to gather your own images, this is also a great way to communicate what you are looking for and the type of event you are planning!

(the one below is more a way for me to quickly show a bride pieces of an invitation design for general direction)
